At their 2015 summer meeting, the Oregon Heritage Tree Committee met at the farm of the late Peter McDonald. McDonald was a former long-time tree committee member. His century-old hazelnut farm was the perfect meeting spot for heritage tree lovers. Jill McDonald (McDonald’s wife) invited the committee to meet on the veranda that overlooks the Willamette River from the old farm house.

A new historical marker “writes” history

On August 6, 2015, a revised and hand-crafted Oregon Historical Marker. The Pendleton Historic Trail marker was dedicated. Installed at the same site as the original (as SE Court Ave becomes Hwy 30) at the east end of the city. The marker is located in a small pull-off on the right side of the highway on the outskirts of Pendleton.

Travel information takes a new turn

On Monday, May 4th, OTE and Clackamas County Tourism (CCT) and Mt. Hood Territory held a grand opening ribbon-cutting at French Prairie Rest Area.
